Founded in 1868, is an educational charity and international organisation working to promote knowledge and appreciation of the modern Commonwealth, and support for its fundamental values and purposes, through its flagship venue the (which is the private members' Club of the RCS), through its educational and outreach programme and through its world-wide network of self-governing RCS branches and Commonwealth societies, honorary representatives, affiliated organisations and individual members in around one hundred countries.
The Royal Commonwealth Society in Hong Kong was established in Hong Kong on 30th April 1983, and its first President was the then Chief Justice of Hong Kong, Sir Denys Roberts.
The keynote of the Royal Commonwealth Society in Hong Kong is knowledge and understanding and it fosters fellowship and information by means of functions, lectures, film shows and other appropriate cultural and social activities. |
